Please take at least as much care as you would at home with your safety and security, it's very easy to forget to be cautious when you are on holiday in such a tranquil and relaxing environment.
Access to the house is via several steps both at the front and the rear making access for wheelchair users or for those with reduced mobility a consideration.
The bedrooms are all on the upper floor and as such may also present access challenges for those not able to climb stairs.
We want you to have a wonderful holiday and therefore it's worth considering what could go wrong even if the likelihood of it happening is very low.
Young children should be closely supervised at all times, particularly with the plunge pool being unrestricted and like most properties staircase, floors and patio being marble, which can be slippery, particularly when wet and the lower cupboards in the kitchen being easily accessible to children, we would advise careful consideration of storing any chemicals or other cleaning products, dishwasher tabs etc. anywhere accessible that may present a risk to children.
Most low level crime that may occur in Barbados tends to be opportunistic, much like the rest of the world, therefore don’t leave valuables on display either in the house or any vehicle you may be using, don't wear valuable jewellery overtly when generally walking around and avoid walking on the beaches after dark.
Battaleys is located in an area of low crime generally and is also away from thoroughfares and access is via a private gated entrance on a road that leads to just one other property, so is away from casual passers by, which probably makes Battaleys one of the safest locations to stay.
The whole complex is surrounded by a wall and has 24x7 on-site security staff that carry out frequent patrols, however we strongly recommend remaining aware of the risk and take sensible measures to avoid an incident.
Don’t leave cash or valuables lying around the property, or in parked vehicles, please use the large safe provided to store any high value items including laptops and tablets, wallets, passports and tickets. Do not leave vehicle keys near doors and windows and lock the doors if you are not in the room, in the immediate vicinity of them.

Battaleys offers a wonderful Holiday Rental. Upon entering the house you'll notice that the floors and walls are light coloured and include marble and coralstone facias, creating a very light feel to compliment the open plan layout which creates an airy and cool feel.
There is a covered porch area which leads to a foyer area inside, which includes a cloakroom and a coat cupboard.
Upon entering the large and bright open plan Dining and Lounge area the kitchen, double french windows to the patio and garden can be accessed as well as the marble curved stairs with a skylight, leading to upstairs.
Arriving at the upstairs landing, the second bathroom shared between betrooms two and three is directly to the front.
Those bedrooms and the Master Bedroom all lead directly off the landing, where there is also a large cupboard.
The Master Bedroom has direct access to the large en-suite bathroom and the balcony which overlooks the garden and open land to the North with distant views to the sea (approximately 300m away) to the West.
